Arrive on time, especially when going to a private party. You will then have time to get into the swing of things with the others before the evening progresses. If arranging a meeting with another couple, be punctual, it shows respect, if you can't avoid being late due to traffic or something, give them a ring and let them know! Always try to arrive and leave as a couple, this shows the strength of your relatonship and respect for your partner. Be polite and friendly. Everyone has insecurities and feels uncertain sometimes, being friendly will help put others at ease. Always be polite, treat others as you would like to be treated and be considerate and understanding with everyone you meet. Being friendly from the start can make things easier as time goes on and can minimise any mis-understandings. No means no. If somebody says no to you, do not take offence. Everybody has the right to do only what they feel comfortable with. Don't continue to persue them or ask why, this can only lead to embarassement and hurt feelings. In the same way if someone aproaches you and you are not interested a polite 'No, thank you' should suffice, there is no need to explain yourself and if you try you may unwittingly hurt their feelings. Everyone has the right to say no, it's better to say no than to continue doing something you don't feel totally comfortable with and have to deal with any ill feelings this may create later down the line. Don't drink too much! Most people like to have a few drinks and it can help you to relax but don't over-indulge. A lot of people will find it a turn off if you get totally drunk, and the swinging lifestyle is not for you if you need to get drunk to enjoy it. Safe sex. Using a condom shows respect for yourself, your partner and those that you are with. If you have discussed it with your partner and you are both happy not to use a condom in certain situations, then you should go to your doctor and ask for a full check up, it's the proper thing to do. Remember to say thank you and inform your host if someone is being abusive or causing problems, they want everyone to enjoy the event and should be willing to help. Always enjoy yourself, keep an open mind and have fun.
